The cold and harsh winter months can do a number on your skin. As the air gets drier, so does your skin. That can leave your face feeling dry, itchy and painful. We’ve all experienced dry skin in the winter season, but why does this often cause winter break outs too?
Dry skin often causes an excess buildup of dead skin cells. In an effort to hydrate, your skin can also over produce excess sebum in an effort to counterbalance the dryness which when combined with the dead skin cells creates breakouts. Not only that, but dry skin breaks pores open and allows for acne causing bacteria to get deeper under the surface of the skin.
When applied to the skin, Tea Tree essential oil not only soothes dry and flaking skin, but it also kills acne causing bacteria. It has strong anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that can help calm redness, swelling and inflammation. It is even known to help reduce the appearance of acne scars leaving you with hydrated, smooth and clear skin.
Although tea tree essential oil is entirely safe to use, it should always be diluted prior to applying it to the skin to reduce risk of irritation. We’ve helped take the guesswork out of diluting with our Organic Tea Tree Essential Oil Roll-on. Our roll-on is diluted to 50% and combined with Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil (MCT) so you also get the hydrating, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties of coconut oil as well.
Acne & Acne Scars Before use, make sure the skin is clean and dry. Apply roll-on morning and night for best results. Tea tree oil takes approximately 4 -5 weeks to up to a few months to fade a scar.
Dry Skin Apply roll-on to the area of concern directly after getting out of the shower daily. This will help to lock in the moisture from the shower and hydrate the area.
